How to convert a whole folder of documents to Markdown · Anymark

Converting files one at a time is fine for a few. For a shared drive, an archive or a knowledge base you want an AI agent to search, Anymark converts a whole folder at once, subfolders included.

Convert a folder

  1. Choose File > Batch Convert Folder… (Shift+⌘/Ctrl+B) and pick the folder.
  2. Choose where the Markdown goes: beside each original, or into another folder that mirrors the same structure.
  3. Choose what happens when a .md already exists: skip it, replace it, or keep both.
  4. Start. A progress bar shows the work; at the end a report lists what was converted and anything that could not be.

The originals are never changed. Pictures are saved in a folder beside each Markdown file, or embedded if you prefer.

From the command line

The same engine runs in scripts, for scheduled jobs or build pipelines:

anymark --convert report.doc > report.md
anymark --batch ./docs --out ./markdown

Try it on your own files. The full app, free for seven days, no card. Then $9.99 once, for life.
