The short version

Your documents never leave your computer. Conversion, OCR and editing run locally in the app. The app talks to anymark.app for exactly three things: starting a trial, activating a licence, and confirming about once a month that a licence is still valid.

What the app sends, and when

When What is sent Why
Starting the trial Your email address, a device identifier, your operating system and the app version To send you the code and to keep the trial to one per person and per computer
Activating a licence The licence key, a device identifier, a device name you can edit, OS and app version To check the key and count the computers it is used on (three allowed)
Monthly check The licence key and device identifier To confirm the key has not been refunded or revoked

The device identifier is a one-way hash derived from your computer’s hardware identifier. It lets us recognise the same computer again but cannot be turned back into anything about you or your machine. We also record the IP address and time of these requests for abuse prevention and keep them for 90 days.

No document content, file names, folder names or usage statistics are ever sent. The app has no analytics and no crash reporting that leaves your machine.

The website

anymark.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics scripts. The web server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, page requested, browser) for 30 days for security.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us; we receive your email address, the amount, and a payment reference. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to the payment itself.

Email

We email you a trial code, your licence key, receipts, and replies to your messages. There is no newsletter; we do not share or sell addresses.

Your rights

Write to privacy@anymark.app to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Deleting your licence record also ends the licence; we will say so before doing it.

Where data is kept

On a server in Germany (IONOS), on our mail server in the United States, and with Stripe. We may move it to another hosting provider; the rules above do not change when we do.
